The presence of acidic or basic catalysts in aqueous solutions facilitates hydrolysis. Amino groups undergo typical reactions characteristic for the primary and secondary amines.
Used mainly as an adhesion promoter, surface modifier of inorganic fillers in composites with polymers: acrylic, cellulose, epoxy, furan, melamine, nitrocellulose, polyamide, polyether, polyurethane, polyvinyl butyryl, silicone, urea-formaldehyde and vinyl. Also used for the modification of the surface of metals and fiberglass.
